So I thought I would create a blog about my life, thoughts, and experiences. I will use this space to post anything I find interesting in my life and that others might be interested in seeing as well.
A little about myself...
I am a recent graduate of UNC-CH with a BA in Latin and a Minor in French. I am currently teaching Latin at the Dunham School in Baton Rouge, La., and am coaching cross-country and track there as well.

Great article! It's amazing how affected we are by chemicals we wouldn't even imagine. Dr. Landrigan (who gave us a great epidemiology lecture a few weeks ago) was also one of the pioneers who combated childhood lead poisoning. And if his work there is any indication, environmental chemicals have great protectors. Dr. Landrigan and others first proved an association between lead and neurological damage, and then in a massive birth cohort study, they proved lead as a causative factor in lowering children's IQ's, promoting aggression, etc. Throughout years of research, they were bribed and intimidated by companies who made leaded gasoline and lead paint, and only in a broader argument to Congress about the economic benefits of a 10 point increase in the IQ of a generation did anyone listen. So we all have Dr. Landrigan to thank for about 6 of our IQ points, and also as a reason to question everything else that might currently be in our food, our faucets, our plastics, and everywhere else.
